lack of water in Colorado river (12/31)
MEXICALI, MEXICO - March 14. A general view of a worker picking up asparagus on March, 14 2019 in Mexicali, Mexico. The asparagus need less water than the alfalfa but they are sold cheaper
The rivers usually end in the sea, the Colorado dies in a border. Its the only case like this in the world. There is less water in the Colorado River, hence less water in crops and areas of northern Mexico.
